Poetic Decay

Poetic Decay is a symbolic self portrait series created using dried, dead flowers. The work explores themes of the passing of youth, abandonment, acceptance and the beauty that can exist within decay.

Flowers are often associated with youth and beauty, yet once they begin to wither they take on a different meaning. In this project i use the dried flowers as a metaphor for the passing of time, loss, and transformation.

The flowers represent emotional states and personal experiences that i find difficult to express directly.
